I'm a new subscriber and stoked to be here. Having written a few pieces of critical skateboard analysis myself I tip my hat to you, because it's an increasingly dangerous work. Skateboarding is the greatest thing ever but part of that greatness used to be it's inbuilt self-criticism. Skateboarding was an unruly child, then a confused teenager and now we're some kind of self content, middle ager, avoiding conflict within our family at any cost.
And I'm part of that too. I bailed out of the conflict zone some years ago, working within skateboarding, but not tough enough to post any of the stuff I've been writing lately. This site, however, might give me the push I need to step into the arena again. Thank you.
I've seen an ebb from Twitter. I actually closed my tab this morning and didn't miss it, really. I think I'll work on trying to just read more at night (books, blogs...stuff like that) as routine stagnates...sometimes.
love this, i wish i could go to a brick and mortar skate shop but ther is literally none near me because i live in the middle of nowhere in england, but i buy all my skate shit from the skate shops website, to echo your point, try to buy local as much as possible! support your communities! (also fuck amazon)
